New West Animal Shelter – Grand Opening
February 1, 2020 at 420 Boyne Street in New Westminster. (see more here!) — we are excited to take part in the Grand Opening of the New Westminster Animal Shelter! Come by and check out the new shelter, and take part in fun activities for the whole family! We will be there from 1pm – 3pm.
NWSS Musical Theatre Presents: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast –
Feb 26-29, 2020 at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster (https://tinyurl.com/t5285ys) — we are delighted to be sponsoring the New West Senior Secondary Musical Program’ performance of Beauty and the Beast! Our grooming assistant – Lauryn – is performing as Madame de la Grande Bouche (Wardrobe), and we can’t wait to support her and the wonderful work the music program does. Besides sponsoring the performance, PAWS owner, Kelly Savela, has volunteered her time designing and building costumes! (PAWS is sponsoring the February 29, 2020 – 7pm show, and we would love to see many familiar faces in the crowd!)
Tinypreneurs – 4th Annual Entrepreneurial Family Festival –
June 13, 2020 at the New Westminster Quay / River Market. PAWS is delighted to be taking part in this exciting event and helping to share information on the opportunities in the animal care industry. Fridays on Front – Holiday Edition (Pet Photos with Santa)
December 13, 2020 at the Front Street Parkade. Along with Bosley’s – Columbia Square we are delighted to have raised over $1500 for the New West Animal Shelter (and another $250 with a small clinic event). Thank you everyone who came out on a cold, rainy December night to enjoy the festivities and visit with Santa!

Fridays on Front
August 23, 2019 on Front Street in New Westminster. We were excited to once again be a part of this wonderful weekly community event. Lots of great food, friendly people and cute dogs out! This was our 4th time participating in this event and we love it every year! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi!

New Westminster Pet Community Outreach Day
August 18, 2019 at Moody Park. We are always happy to give back to the community in whatever ways we are able, and enjoyed taking part again in the annual Pet Community Outreach Day in New Westminster (we have participated annually since 2016). We were able to offer free nail trims and ear cleaning and support a wonderful event.

New Westminster Pride
August 17, 2019 on Columbia Street in New Westminster. Pride in New West is always a fun, exciting, friendly event! We were ecstatic to tie for second place in the window decorating contest, and had such a good time saying hi to tons of animal friends – and making lots of new ones! We have enjoyed taking part in Pride each year since 2016!

Doggy Fun Day
August 11, 2019 – Doggy Fun Day in New West is a fundraising event supporting VEATA and we were happy to take part! Besides many animal lovers getting together, we offered nail trims. We’ve participated in this event each time it has been held since 2016 and enjoy every year! The event itself had tons of great demos – like agility – and fun games and contests for the whole family.

Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest
July 27, 2019 – the 7th Annual Columbia StrEAT food truck festival was wonderful to take part in! We had tons of goodies, treats and prizes for our canine and feline friends as well as our own special selfie-truck – and got to enjoy the amazing foods from all different cuisines! This is the largest one-day food truck event in North America and hosted over 100 trucks! We have participated in the StrEAT food truck festival every year since 2016 and love watching it grow bigger and better, with more community participation!

New West Grand Prix
July 9, 2019 – During the New West Grand Prix over 200 professional cyclists zoomed right past PAWS in Mens, Womens and Childrens races! We enjoyed being a cow bell stop and watching the bikes zip by.
